Geoff is one of the founders of the NMG Group, having previously worked as a Marketing Actuary for Swiss Re in South Africa and Switzerland. During his time at Swiss Re he was heavily involved in the Health Care, Life and Disability insurance industries in a number of markets, including the Netherlands, South Africa, Scandinavia, and throughout Asia. Geoff has spent many years advising multinational financial businesses, particularly in the field of Mergers & Acquisitions. Now based in Perth, Western Australia, Geoff divides his time between NMG Holdings’ interests in businesses around the world, including South Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe and Canada.

Geoff is an Executive Director of NMG Holdings Limited.

Between 1990 and 1996 Rhys was a director of Fincorp Healthcare. Fincorp was the first company in South Africa to develop and market the concept of savings and risk-pool based medical aid plans. This resulted in taking the ground- breaking concept of Medsave to the market and paved the way for the creation of the Medical Savings Account. In 1997 Rhys was appointed Managing Director of Aon Consulting and in 2002 Rhys was appointed as Deputy Managing Director of Aon South Africa. Rhys joined NMG in 2004 as Chief Executive Officer.

Rhys is a member of the Financial Planning Institute and a founder member of AHBA which is the representative of healthcare brokers in South Africa.

Business Development Director

Jacky has extensive management experience in both the quasi-public and private sectors. His management experience includes work as chief legal advisor and company secretary of State owned and private businesses. This includes Soekor E&P, Foskor and Denel. He also spent time at Ernst & Young, and was on the executive committees of all these enterprises.

Jacky was Principal Executive Officer of the Discovery Health Medical Scheme for over 5 years and was responsible for strategy, operations and governance of the medical scheme. He is an ex board member of the Board of Healthcare Funders of Southern Africa, and served on various of its subcommittees. He was appointed a commercial member of the Tax Court in 2007.

Chief Operating Officer

Richard started his career in the asset management and unit trust industry with UAL and later the Board of Executors (BoE). Richard, together with a number of likeminded colleagues, left BoE to establish a new business, Ten50Six, of which Richard was the MD. Ten50Six was a specialist retirement fund administration business that quickly established a reputation as one of the leaders in its field. This was later acquired by Glenrand MIB, when Richard joined NMG as head of its retirement fund business. He subsequently progressed to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Mark is a founding member of the NMG Group. He has extensive experience in Asian and international insurance markets, and his areas of expertise include strategic advice and assistance, alliance management, as well as the strategic aspects of distribution consulting. His technical strengths include Life Insurance and Accident & Health Insurance, at both the product and distribution levels. Mark worked at Swiss Reinsurance Company from January 1989 until April 1992 in actuarial and business development roles, based in South Africa.Mark is also a Non-Executive Director of NMG Holdings Limited.

After graduating from the University of Cape Town, Lenz spent the next 34 years working for the Swiss Reinsurance Company. In 1965 he joined their Life Department in Zurich, Switzerland, and qualified as an Actuary in 1969. He was appointed investment manager of the South African subsidiary in 1970 and spent the next 29 years with them in Johannesburg. After running the short-term department for some years he was appointed Chief Executive in 1983 a position he held until he retired in the middle of 1999. Lenz has served on many committees within the insurance/reinsurance industry and on both the short-term and life advisory committees to the Government at various times.
